Where does the ship visit?
Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse is currently sailing European itineraries until November 2010. The ship will then sail a mixture of Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries until April 2011 when she will return to Europe.

What are fellow passengers typically like?

What’s new for 2011 and 2012?
Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse will be joined by Celebrity Cruises newest Solstice Class ship, Celebrity Silhouette, in July 2011.

Life on board

What type of meals do you offer?
There are 10 different dining venues, including four speciality venues:

Moonlight Sonata Dining Room
Oceanview Café and Bar – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a variety of stations
Bistro on Five – a creperie with tableside service for lunch and dinner
Mast Bar and Grill – casual venue where items are grilled to order
Café al Bacio and Gelataria – gelatos, Italian ices, cakes and coffees
AquaSpa Café – quick, lighter fare in the Solarium

Speciality restaurants include:
Blu – healthier cuisine designed for AquaClass guests
Qsine – designed to reflect childhood favourites, with a modern and surprising twist
Tuscan Grill – Italian cuise with steaks
Murano – classic and modern Continental cuisine

Do you cater to vegetarians and special diets?
Yes. Please advise your agent when booking.

What are the dress codes onboard?
You will need three types of clothing on your Celebrity cruise: casual shipboard attire or day wear, conservative port wear and eveningwear.

How should I tip on board staff?
For your convenience, we automatically add a discretionary gratuity for your restaurant and stateroom services to your SeaPass account.

An approximate daily total of $11.50 per guest ($12.00 for Concierge Class and Aquaclass guests and $15.00 for suite guests) per cruise day will cover the stateroom and dining room service for adults and children.

Guests that have chosen to pre-pay service charges at the time of booking will find the service charges left will be automatically added to the sea pass account.

What entertainment is on board the ship?
Celebrity Eclipse onboard features include a real grass lawn larger than eight tennis courts, the Celebrity iLounge internet café and Apple reseller, a glassblowing show and studio developed with the Corning Museum of Glass, Quasar nightclub, AquaSpa, and the Eclipse Theatre with West-End style productions and circus-inspired shows.

What is inclusive of the price of booking, and what would I need pay extra for?
Generally fly/cruise prices include the following where applicable:

• Full board accommodation.

• Entertainment on board ship.

• Return international and connecting regional flights from selected UK airports.

• UK departure tax.

• Port, hotel & airport transfers, as stated in the itinerary.

• Hotel accommodation as stated in the itinerary (room only basis unless otherwise stated).

• Representatives at London Heathrow, Gatwick & Manchester and at most overseas arrival airports on standard departure dates.

• Baggage handling subject to availability and relevant taxes.

For cruise only clients, the price includes:

• Full board accommodation.

• Entertainment on board ship.

• Relevant taxes.

Unless otherwise agreed, the price does not include:

• Non UK departure taxes or airport improvement tax (on some itineraries this will have to be paid locally).

• Shore excursions.

• Personal expenses (eg, on-board drinks, laundry charges, health and beauty treatments, hairdressing, telephone calls).

• Hotel meals onshore (unless otherwise stated).

• Transfers on a cruise-only package.

• Travel insurance.

• Service charges.

• Tips and gratuities on board or ashore.

• Anything else which is not specifically mentioned in the purchase price.

How can I stay in touch with friends and family?
Friends and family can reach guests on any Celebrity ship 24 hours a day via telephone simply by calling 001 732 335 3296. Callers must pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). There is no charge for waiting or dialling time; charges begin when the caller connects to the ship. Please note, on our Celebrity Xpeditions to the Galapagos Islands, a telephone service is available in each stateroom for a reasonable fee.

Is Internet access available from the ship?
Dial up Internet connections are available in staterooms. There is also internet access in the onboard iLounge. The Celebrity iLounge consists of three main areas: a series of contemporary MacBook workstations where guests can check their e-mail and print boarding passes; a retail space offering cruisers the opportunity to check out the latest MacBooks, iPods® and accessories; and a centre where certified staff will offer guests tips on Mac or iPod usage.

Are hair-dryers provided in the cabins?
Yes. Hair-dryers are provided in all staterooms

What electrical voltage is offered onboard?
The on board voltage is 110/220 AC (maximum 1500 watts)

What is your smoking policy?
There are designated smoking and non-smoking areas onboard all ships. All theatres and dining rooms are non-smoking. There are no non-smoking staterooms or suites.

Do your cabins have soap, shampoo, and conditioner?
Yes this is provided in all staterooms. In addition Celebrity Cruies offers guests the opportunity to stay in AquaClass cabins. Here guests can enjoy special amenities to enhance their health-and-wellness-oriented cruising experience which includes a welcome kit featuring teeth-whitening sample, slippers, spa-oriented amenities kit and shower gel.

Do you offer room service?
Yes. It is available 24 hours a day (except on Celebrity Xpedition ships) whether you want an extra blanket or a midnight snack. On all ships except Celebrity Xpedition ships, you may also order room service on the Interactive TV in your stateroom (Interactive TV is not available on Celebrity Xpedition ships). Room service is complimentary.

Are ATM machines available onboard?
ATMs dispensing US Dollars are available onboard all Celebrity ships. You may obtain cash by using your MasterCard, VISA or American Express card.

Can I bring my own alcohol?
Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Celebrity Cruises’ Guest Vacation Policy may be enforced, up to and including disembarkation, if a guest violates any alcohol policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

How can I celebrate special occasions (Birthday cakes etc)?
Celebrity Cruises can take care of all special occasions, such as arranging for birthday cakes. Contact the Personal Cruise Specialists for more information and to arrange.

Families

Do you allow children and young families on board?
Yes. Infants sailing on a cruise must be at least 6 months old as of the first day of the cruise/cruisetour. However, for Transatlantic, Transpacific, Hawaii, select South American cruises/cruisetours and other selected cruises/cruisetours, the infant must be at least 12 months old as of the first day of the cruise/Cruise Tour. For the purposes of this policy, any cruise that has 3 or more days consecutive at sea will require infants to be 12 months old on the first day of the cruise/Cruise Tour.

Can babies cots and cribs be provided in my cabin?
Yes. Guests must advise when booking so a cot can be made available in their stateroom.

What facilities are available for entertainment of young children?
There are children’s facilities and entertainment on board all Celebrity Cruises’ ships.  The programme is available for 3-17 year olds, divided into 4 age groups:

Shipmates (3 – 6 years)
Celebrity Cadets (7 – 9 years)
Ensigns (10 – 12 years)
Admiral T’s (13 – 17 years)

Medical care

What if I get sick on board?
Except for Celebrity Expedition ships, there is a medical centre onboard, which is usually staffed by a fully qualified doctor and at least one nurse. On our Celebrity Xpedition ship, there is usually one licensed (under Equadorian Law) position in attendance onboard. However, there is a charge for all medical services and adequate medical insurance is recommended. Charges are based upon US Government Medicare Physician Fee schedules. The medical centre provides complimentary motion sickness tablets if required.

Will I get seasick or motion sickness?
It is quite unusual to get seasick onboard because of the stabiliser technology used on our ships which helps to prevent the rocking effect. However, if you do feel unwell, we always advise guests to visit the onboard doctor who will be able to provide you with the relevant tablets to help settle you. There are also some acupuncture treatments available onboard some cruise ships that have fantastic results in easing seasickness

What facilities are available for disabled and handicapped passengers?
Every Celebrity Cruises’ ships have staterooms that are specially designed to be wheelchair accessible. We’ve also made most of our activities and services wheelchair accessible where possible.
