The presenter, philanthropist, businesswoman and mum-of-one reveals her favourite holiday destinations

Celebrity Travels Katie PiperMy most memorable holiday was an amazing two-week break in Thailand. One day we took a fishing trip, they cooked the fish on the BBQ and the taste was amazing. I really like trying new and exotic foods as much as I can despite my issues with eating after my accident. For a long time I wasn’t able to travel so I really appreciate being able to travel now.

I never go without my phone when I travel – I am a bit of a social media addict but it’s really important to me to stay in contact with my family when I’m away, especially when I’m working. I also always travel with my Remescar Silicone Scar Stick and Sudocrem for my face.

My last city break was Barcelona with a friend and our daughters – it’s such a fun and cosmopolitan city. In October half-term my husband and I took Belle, our daughter, to Tenerife for a family break. She loved it – plenty of time in the swimming pools and building sandcastles at the beach, really special family time.

Mauritius is my favourite place – it’s paradise with lovely weather and people. I felt so lucky to be there. Hopefully I’ll get to go again.

The wonderful shopping and food sounds incredible on a cruise – but also the chance to visit some amazing places all in one trip in extreme luxury is bliss.

I am currently enjoying Jo Malone’s book, My Story. She is a great example of a hard-working, lovely woman in business. I’m obsessed with her scents and candles, too.

Now we have Belle and she is three, so a perfect holiday is staying in a lovely hotel/resort for us that has plenty of fun things for her to do. My husband and I love to relax in the sun with some good food and drink, too. I work so hard being a working mum with my charity that when I go away I do like some chill time.

I love listening to old-school music on holiday – a mix of Michael Jackson and the Spice Girls. Michael Jackson is my all-time favourite and my idol, so he is my main music go-to.

I’d love to see more of the Caribbean – I’d like to visit Barbados, St Lucia and Jamaica. They all seem such beautiful islands so I’d love to experience them one day. I also adore fish and I’ve been told the Caribbean islands have incredible food with some amazing fresh fish dishes.

Katie’s new book Confidence: The Secret is out now (£12.99, Quercus).
