Q. We love to sing and dance along to musicals – can you tell us which cruise lines offer the best shows at sea?
A. If you’re a lover of song and dance, then there’s a great choice of West End-style shows appearing on board different cruise lines. Norwegian Cruise Line has recently announced changes to its entertainment offerings: fans of 80s music will love For the Record: The Brat Pack, featuring songs from classic movies like The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, which proved so popular in the Supper Club on board Norwegian Escape that it will be debuting in the main Escape Theater from 16 April.
Royal Caribbean is well known for its lavish stage shows. We loved Mamma Mia! on Allure of the Seas, and you can see Grease on Harmony of the Seas. Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Vista has the wonderful Amor Cubano: A Caribbean Dance Romance, set in sultry Cuba. It’s an intoxicating blend of classic Latin music and dance featuring songs by Gloria Estefan and Celia Cruz that will have you up on your feet dancing.
And, for the first time, guests on board Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wonder will be transported to the kingdom of Arendelle to experience the wonderful Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, featuring songs and characters from the hit animated Disney film. And the best news is that you won’t pay a penny extra to enjoy the show.
