TV chef James Martin is to develop the first cookery school at sea on P&O Cruises’ Britannia.

‘The Cookery Club’ is the first cookery school on board a British cruise ship.

James Martin is the latest celebrity chef to join P&O’s Britannia. Marco Pierre White, Atul Kochhar, Eric Lanlard and Olly Smith are already firm favourites with the British cruise line.

The new school will be open to 24 guests at a time and is the latest announcement in P&O’s step towards a food-orientated experience on board Britannia.

“I’m really excited about joining P&O Cruises in this brand new venture,” said James Martin.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the progress of The Cookery club, the plans look amazing and I think it will be a world-class space,” he added.

The cookery school will feature alongside award-winning patissier, Eric Lanlard‘s first solo venture at sea – a patisserie range in the Market Café on board.

In addition, Marco Pierre White, Atul Kochhar and Olly Smith will be lending their expertise to all culinary feats on board offering guests world-class cuisine throughout their cruise.

P&O Cruises marketing director Christopher Edgington said:

The ship will depart for its maiden voyage on 14 March 2015 to the Mediterranean from Southampton.
