Jamie Oliver has revealed the menus for his Jamie’s Italian restaurant on board Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas.
Speaking at an exclusive event at Jamie’s Italian in London’s West End, the celebrity chef said that he and his team were “beyond buzzed up” to have a partner that “actually moves”. “We’re really impressed with the ninja like ability of Royal Caribbean,” he added. “The expectations from the public are massive, and we’re compromising none of our standards or ethics. We’re very strict about things like animal welfare and traceability and Royal Caribbean are absolutely fine with everything.”
Highlights of the Jamie’s Italian menus for Quantum of the Seas include the Signature Porchetta, a slow-cooked pork belly filled with herbs, garlic and spices, served with fennel crackling and watercress salad; free-range grilled garlic and rosemary chicken; fillet steak wrapped in Italian ham with braised cannelloni beans; and truffle tagliatelle served with fresh foraged black truffles, butter, Parmesan & nutmeg.
Desserts include Raspberry and Chocolate-Ripped Pavlova and Amalfi Lemon Meringue Cheesecake, and the menu also features the popular planks, including one with cured meats and one with Italian cheeses.
There will be a cover charge for Jamie’s Italian on board Quantum of the Seas, and a second restaurant will follow on Anthem of the Seas.
Jamie, who cruised on Royal Caribbean as a child with his parents, said that he was looking forward to taking his own family, including wife Jools, on board at some point. “I’ve got four kids that are feral who I would love to hand over to the Royal Caribbean team,” he added.
