MSC Cruises’ ship MSC Divina is playing host to a collection of 84 vintage photographs that form the La Dolce Vita. 1950-60. Stars and Celebrities in the Italian Fifties exhibition.
Showcasing the birth of the paparazzi, the exhibition offers a captivating insight into the lives of a number of famous faces, including Sophia Loren at the opening of the III Rallye del cinema, Brigitte Bardot at a press conference, Frank Sinatra, Alain Delon, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Joan Collins, Roger Moore, Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth to name a few.
The exhibition was first shown in Rome in 2010, unveiling many previously unpublished photographs; it will now call MSC Divina home until the end of its year-long Caribbean season.
The selection of images pay homage to international celebrities, and to an era that played a vital role in creating Italy’s reputation for glamour.
The photographs not only feature household names, but also capture adoring fans, fashion, Italian nightlife – forever preserved.
