MSC Cruises has unveiled features of its new smart ship MSC Meraviglia.
With the first cruise scheduled for 4 June 2017, MSC Meraviglia has been designed to offer guests cutting-edge entertainment, a range of dining options and wellness choices.
The ship, which has a capacity of 5,700 passengers, will spend its inaugural summer season sailing the western Mediterranean – calling at locations such as Naples, Barcelona and Marseille.
A highlight of the onboard entertainment includes Cirque du Soleil. Two shows will be performed six nights per week in the Carousel Lounge, a circular performance venue with a 180-degree glass wall that has been designed to meet the needs of Cirque du Soleil performers.
Other features include a super amusement park and children’s area. Thrill seekers can go to the Aqua Park, which will include four water slides, a splash pool and Champagne bowl, while the Himalayan Bridge allows guests to attach themselves to a rope and cross the ship, 60m above the water.
Families also have a choice of three pools – two on deck, one of which overlooks views to the back of the ship, and one indoors that measures 10m.
There are 12 dining venues across MSC Meraviglia, which offer speciality Mediterannean and international cuisine. Kaito Sushi Bar, Kaito Teppanyaki Restaurant and an American-style steakhouse are three fine-dining choices for guests on board.
