With more than 40% of British passengers now choosing to begin their cruise from a UK port, Royal Caribbean International have announced that Summer 2013 will see them deploy nine ships in Europe, three of which will be based here in the UK.

The cruise line will offer 276 sailings to 88 ports on 58 European itineraries in Summer 2013.

By then seven of the nine Europe-based ships will have completed a multi-million dollar re-fit and re-design.

The decision comes as research by the Passenger Shipping Association shows that more than 40% of Brits choose to cruise from a UK port.

Highlights of the 2013 summer season include:

UK-based Independence of the Seas will offer new itineraries including an increase in two and three night cruises. She will also offer 8 and 14 night cruises to Norway, 14 night Mediterranean and Cork cruises, and 12 night Canary Islands cruises.

Adventure of the Seas will offer a series of seven, 12, 13, 14 and 16-night cruises to Norway, France & Spain, Baltics and the Mediterranean.

Brilliance of the Seas will sail to Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea on 11 and 12-night cruises.

Barcelona-based Serenade of the Seas will offer 12 night Mediterranean Greek Isles and Mediterranean Venice itineraries.

Liberty of the Seas – Five and seven night Western Mediterranean cruises, Nine night – Italian peninsula or 10-night Greek Isles and 11-night Greece and Turkey itineraries.

Legend of the Seas will operate seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries, calling at Genoa, Italy; Provence (Marseilles), France; and Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and Valencia, Spain.

Seven nights on Vision of the Seas will alternate -Norwegian Fjords and Scandinavia & Russia itineraries from Copenhagen, Denmark. Plus 7 night Scandinavia and Russia sailings from Stockholm, 10 night British Isles cruises and 11-night cruises to the Norwegian Coast and beyond Latitude 66 North into the Arctic Circle.

Italian based Navigator of the Seas  will offer seven-night Eastern Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises. And Splendour of the Seas – will offer a selection seven-night Adriatic and Greek Isles sailings.
