The Legendary Syd Lawrence Orchestra will be playing on board Cruise and Maritime Voyages‘ elegant Marco Polo cruise ship on its 14 May ‘Grand British Isles’ sailing from London Tilbury.

The orchestra, now under the leadership of trombonist Chris Dean, have astounded audiences for years with their thrilling renditions of a number of classics from Glen Miller, Ted Heath, John Barry and numerous others.

While on board the band will be preforming six specially themed performances ranging from the ‘Best of the Big Bands’ to  classic ‘James Bond and movie themes’.

Mike Hall, marketing manager for CMV said: “Our guests will relish getting close to these famous musicians who will perform throughout the cruise alongside our resident show team and band on board.”

The orchestra join an already  highly rated entertainment lineup onboard CMV, with performances from acts such as comedian Andy Ford, and  Katy Setterfield, the star of BBC’s Dusty Springfield, all featuring upon their cruises.

The Grand British Isle Cruise is available from £799pp and visits Scotland, Orkney islands, Outer Hebrides, Isles of Mull, Dublin, Isles of Scilly and Portland on its journey around Britain.
