What type of meals do you offer?

An extensive full buffet breakfast with hot and cold choices; a three course lunch in the dining room or lighter lunch served in the lounge bar; and five course evening meal. The emphasis is on international cuisine based on fresh and seasonal produce.

Does Viking Europe cater to vegetarians and special diets?

Yes, provided the UK office is advised in advance and the maitre d’ informed when on board.

What are the dress codes onboard Viking Europe?

During the day, casual with the emphasis on comfort as guests may be walking around towns and villages on their excursions. Sensible shoes, a raincoat and layers! In the evening, it’s smart casual – open neck shirts, slacks and dresses. Captain’s welcome is more dressy but not formal, men generally wear a jacket.

How should I tip on board staff?

Tipping is not included in the holiday price, they are a personal way to show satisfaction and good service and always appreciated. The suggested amount is the equivalent of 10 euros a day which is then split among all shipboard staff. Additional tipping is at the discretion of the guest.

What entertainment is on board Viking Europe?

Entertainment is low key. There is often an on board pianist and depending on the itinerary, local groups may visit the ship to perform. During the day talks there’s a programme of ‘Old World Highlights’ which is activities related to the region such as wine tasting, porcelain demonstration, strudel making etc, there’s also a Culture Curriculum with talks relevant to the cruise.
