Love music? Fancy a music-themed cruise? Here well-known blogger and Contributing Editor for Cruise International Becky Wiggins shares her top tips
Q. My friends and I would like to go on a music-themed cruise to celebrate my 40th birthday. Which cruise lines and itineraries should we look at?
If you want to enjoy a music-themed cruise, then Holland America Line’s MS Koningsdam could be a great choice for you. Not only is the theme of music prevalent in the design of the ship (the sculpture in the atrium is the shape of a harp, for example), but there are several cruises boasting live music, including a partnership with renowned music publication Billboard. Billboard Onboard showcases live musicians including pianists, guitarists and DJs. During the nightly sets and songs, guests can sing and play along with trivia questions presented on screens throughout the room.
If you fancy a proper party, I really like the sound of Celebrity Cruises’ Mardi Gras & Caribbean fly-cruise departing 1 March 2019. It includes a three-day visit to New Orleans to give guests the chance to immerse themselves in all the festivities of the Big Easyʼs
world-famous Mardi Gras celebrations.
Meanwhile Carnival Cruise Line has some incredible performers on board as part of their Carnival LIVE series. Previous acts have included KC and the Sunshine Band, Gladys Knight, Nick Jonas and Carly Rae Jepsen.
