Legendary Hollywood actress – and Gwyneth Paltrow’s mum – Blythe Danner has been named as the godmother of Seabourn’s latest ship, Seabourn Quest.
Ms Danner will name the latest ultra-luxury vessel in Barcelona on June 20, ahead of her maiden voyage to Athens.
She follows Twiggy, who became godmother of Seabourn Quest’s sister ship, Sojourn, last year.
Ms Danner is best known for her roles in Meet the Fockers and Will and Grace and Sylvia, with her daughter Gwyneth.
She won a Tony Award for her Broadway debut in Butterflies Are Free and has received nominations for her roles in Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, A Streetcar Named Desire and Stephen Sondheim’s Follies.
“Blythe Danner perfectly embodies the blend of style and sophistication, with a unique sense of fun that sparks the social atmosphere on board a Seabourn ship,” says Richard Meadows, Seabourn’s president. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her officially name our newest ship.”
