KALEIDOSCOPE BOULEVARD AND OTHER VENUES
Highlights include the ship’s promenade, called Kaleidoscope Boulevard, is a visual feast of colours and lights – aluminum light fixtures, subdivided into geometric modules are backlit with stripes of red, blue and yellow LED lights; Amber Palace, named after Russia’s famous Amber Room, is distinguished by rococo moldings, gold leaf columns with female figures and candelabras; Ivory Club, featuring an Indian theme set off with elephant tusk replicas, intricate wall coverings with spindles and ivory-like squares.
Carnival Glory offers a wide variety of formal and casual venues, including the stunning Platinum and Golden formal dining rooms with extensive menus and wine lists; a casual poolside restaurant, Red Sail Restaurant, with full breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets and a 24-hour pizzeria, along with a New York-style deli, an Asian specialty station and a grille; and the Emerald Room, classic American steakhouse serving U.S.D.A. prime dry-aged beef, chops, seafood and other cuisine.
Dining room menus also include vegetarian dishes and children’s menus, as well as Spa Carnival Fare, delicious health-conscious menu items that are lower in fat, sodium, cholesterol and calories. The ship also features a patisserie and a sushi bar, as well as complimentary 24-hour room service and ice cream and frozen yogurt.
Carnival Glory offers organized programs for three different age groups – Camp Carnival for 2- to 11-year-olds, Circle “C” for 12- to 14-year-olds, and Club O2 for 15- to 17-year-olds – with supervised activities and expansive, modern facilities for each. Carnival Glory also houses four swimming pools, including a children’s wading pool and an aft pool offering a 214-foot-long water slide.
HEALTH AND FITNESS FACILITY
Fitness has become an important part of everyday life and guests sailing on the Carnival Glory can take advantage of the ship’s 14,500-square-foot “Spa Carnival” facility, which features exercise equipment, a gymnasium, and body and facial treatments, including a number of exotic “European-style” therapies. The ship also features a salon offering a variety of hair, nail and make-up services.
Carnival Glory also features the line’s popular Carnival Seaside Theatre, a massive 270-square-foot LED screen on Lido Deck displaying movies, concerts, sporting events, and other programming, including a “Morning Show” hosted by the ship’s cruise director. Utilizing the same technology featured in large stadiums and New York’s Times Square, the state-of-the-art entertainment system includes a 70,000-watt sound system, providing concert quality sound, even outdoors.
Golfers sailing aboard the Carnival Glory have the opportunity to receive personalized instruction and play a number of challenging courses in a number of ports of call. Shipboard lessons are conducted at a covered and lighted driving range and utilize state-of-the-art V1 teaching computers featuring side-by-side comparisons with top tour players and sophisticated video analysis. Lessons are also included during golfing excursions, which feature priority tee times, transportation between ship and course, and cart and green fees. Equipment rental, including clubs, golf shoes and accessories, is also available.
Sixty percent of Carnival Glory’s 1,487 spacious staterooms offer either an ocean view or private balcony- ideal for viewing the beautiful Caribbean scenery. As part of Carnival’s fleetwide stateroom amenities, all Carnival Glory’s staterooms feature the Carnival Comfort Bed sleep system, featuring plush mattresses, luxurious duvets and duvet covers, fluffy pillows and high quality sheets and linens. All accommodations include terrycloth bathrobes and all staterooms offer in-cabin amenity kits with a variety of brand-name product samples for men and women.
