A team of employees from cruise company Carnival UK are taking part in The Prince’s Trust Million Makers.
Simon Parry, Chairman of Cunard Million Makers, said: “We jumped at the chance to take part in this amazing project for an amazing charity.
“We are all having a great time learning new skills, meeting new people and most importantly raising loads of money for The Prince’s Trust.
“We hope cruise enthusiasts get behind us by coming to the gala, buying the book or making a donation via our JustGiving page.”
Million Makers is an entrepreneurial fundraising challenge that sees teams of employees from companies across the UK competing to raise at least £10,000 or more over a period of six months for The Prince’s Trust.
Collectively the teams are aiming to raise £1,000,000 to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people around the country.
The team of 14 at Carnival UK are working on two big projects to raise money for The Prince’s Trust.
The first is The Cunard Gala at The Savoy. The evening will include an intimate performance by the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Inglis and a money can’t buy auction. Tickets are on sale now at cunardgala.com.
The second project is a children’s book called Charles’ Grand Adventure. The book follows a bear who is parted from his family on board a cruise ship and the adventures he has before they are reunited. The book will be on sale from Friday 6 October at charlesgrandadventure.co.uk.
Ali Webster, Team Cunard Million Makers, said: “This project has been so emotive as it really is going to help so many young people across the UK. I am truly proud to be part of it.”
