My last holiday was on a Carnival Horizon cruise sailing out of Miami to the Caribbean. On sea days I spent my time relaxing by the swimming pool as well as exploring the activities on the ship, of which there were plenty. From the heights of SkyRide to the live music and entertainment to the couples spa, there was always plenty to do on board.

Carnival Horizon was my first cruise and, to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I was definitely pleasantly surprised – I loved the fact that we could have such a varied holiday, and spend each day in a new place having new experiences.

I have been lucky enough to have had some amazing trips and holidays so far. However, I must say, the Carnival cruise was incredible. We visited some of the most beautiful islands, such as Grand Turk and St Maarten, and had the opportunity to snorkel in the crystal blue waters. The cruise was perfect as we were able to have a mixture of activities and relaxation time. I would highly recommend the trip.

Miami is now high on my list of favourite destinations because the weather is amazing, the beaches are stunning and the way of life is great. A city where you can finish work and head to the beach is such a brilliant place to live. I also loved the Caribbean; the islands and sea were breathtaking – I’ve never seen anything like it.

For my next trip, I would love to go on a cruise to Grand Cayman for the opportunity to surf and see turtles, dolphins and stingrays. Of course, the warm weather and blue seas are definitely another strong attraction.

My perfect holiday consists of sun, sea and activities. I love to relax while having the option of seeing something new or just messing around and having fun. For me, a holiday is a break from the stresses of life and an opportunity to recharge the batteries.

On my last holiday I read Ant Middleton’s book First Man In. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a boost of motivation and an insight into life in the forces.

As a doctor, the most important health tip I can give to travellers is to be prepared. Research your travel destination well in advance so that you can sort any vaccinations you require and purchase any destination specific remedies and medical equipment/medicines. For example, if you are heading to a hot destination then suncream, aftersun and insect repellent are essential.

I also think it is always worth having a small first aid kit with plasters, repellant, anti-allergy medication in case of skin reactions as well as pain relief such as paracetamol.

For me, Love Island was about the bonds I made with people on the show. I was very lucky to make incredible friends for life and for this I am very grateful. Having support from the public and being reminded of this at certain points in the show was also amazing.

Spending time in Mallorca for Love Island was so nice. The weather was almost always sunny, if a little hot a times. The island is beautiful and has everything you could want. It was a great place to spend nine weeks, for sure.
