Our very own travel writers Jessica Tooze and Belinda Gannon have been shortlisted for Passenger Shipping Association’s Cruise Journalism Awards
Cruise International’s Jessica Tooze has been shortlisted for her “Romance of the Rhine” feature, published by Cruise International magazine, for the Best River Cruise Feature category.
Jessica Tooze wound her way through the heartland of Europe on Uniworld’s majestic Antoinette exploring both the romantic and turbulent past of the areas along the Rhine.
Meanwhile, Belinda Gannon’s piece: “A Free Spirit”, has gained her a spot in the Best First Time Cruise Feature category.
Belinda Gannon fell in love with cruising after her fortnight taster voyage to Rouen and Bruges – aboard the 800-passenger, adult only Marco Polo owned by Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) – and her shortlisted piece tells the tale of a first-time cruiser.
The 31 finalist articles, blogs and television programmes were narrowed down from more than 270 entries for the second Cruise Journalism Awards, organised by the Passenger Shipping Association.
On the evening there will be a further award for outstanding contribution to cruise journalism.
Look out for the results that are to be announced at the awards ceremony at the Millbank Media Centre, London, on Tuesday 5 March. We wish them luck for the big night!
