|Please forgive me if this sounds a little like an ‘after the horse has bolted’ type of question. We have recently discovered the delights of cruising, especially compared to air travel, and have sailed from our local port of Southampton. We cruise with good friends and have decided not to fly. However, we have booked our next cruise from Copenhagen to the Baltic next summer.I was hoping that there may be some form of non-air package offered that would include the ferry / tunnel (or train / coach), hotel en route and port parking – as is offered in the UK.Having searched relentlessly since booking I am finding it hard to either find a package and, perhaps even more concerning, a parking package / service.
Please can I ask the expert: do cruise lines offer such packages? And is there a similar parking offering at the port in Copenhagen as in Southampton? (ie car literally left at boarding entrance).
We sail next August with Princess.
Hoping you can help.
|I am afraid cruise lines do not offer this kind of service apart from sailings departing from the UK.With your Princess Cruise from Copenhagen, this is a difficult departure port to get to unless you fly.You can of course make your own arrangements to any departure port at your own expense and time. Cruise lines would give you a cruise only price, take off the air section then the rest would be down to you.The danger of doing this, is if for some reason you were late and missed the ship, it is your responsibility to either get to the next cruise port or abandon the whole journey.
In your case you would need to catch a ferry to Denmark using someone like DFDS ferries. Aside from the driving distances involved, the cost of the ferries can be expensive as you will need on board accommodation. I would say this would be an extreme alternative to flying and a costly one.
If this is something you still want to consider doing then the port of Malmo in Sweden does have parking facilities there.

Hope this helps.
