West End and Broadway productions alike are played out on Royal Caribbean’s different ships – Chicago on Allure of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, Hairspray on Oasis of the Seas and Saturday Night Fever on Liberty of the Seas, in 1,300-seat theatres. Five ships feature the DreamWorks Experience with characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and other movies in parades, ice shows and other performances. And on new ships it gets even better – Quantum of the Seas, arriving in November, and Anthem of the Seas (2015) have an ice rink and even dodgem cars. The former features Two70°, a vast, modernistic venue for live shows with acrobats, music and state-of-the-art projections, and the Music Hall for live performances.
A five-night Western Caribbean cruise on 6 December 2014 from Fort Lauderdale on Liberty of the Seas starts at £1,185pp, including flights and a pre-cruise hotel stay (royalcaribbean.co.uk/0844 493 4005).
