Q. We love travelling to new places. Where is the next ‘new’ destination and which cruise lines will take us there?
A. Asia is one of the hot destinations of the moment as the diverse collection of countries and cultures really lend themselves to exploration by ship. More cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises have introduced Far East sailings, with voyages that include South Korea, China and Malaysia, while Princess Cruises also offers voyages that focus on Japan.
Some of the most popular itineraries begin or finish in Hong Kong and Singapore, with upmarket companies such as Seabourn and Silversea often sailing between both cities and including ports along the way in Thailand, plus Vietnam’s beautiful limestone seascape of Halong Bay and Ho Chi Minh City. Boutique tall ship line Star Clippers makes its Asia debut later this year with sailings along the coast of Thailand and Malaysia.
