Q. Our family love to cook and want to go on a foodie cruise that offers a culinary masterclass. Which cruise lines do you recommend?
A. What a great idea for a family holiday. Many cruise lines now offer exclusive culinary-themed cruises, or provide the opportunity to add culinary masterclasses to existing cruise itineraries. I would recommend P&O Cruises: boasting a whole host of food heroes, including celeb chefs Marco Pierre White, James Martin and Eric Lanlard, all of whom regularly join cruises on board Britannia to share their skills.
Guests can attend small-group demonstrations, hosted dinners or even a hands-on two-hour cookery masterclass in the state-of-the-art Cookery Club.
Oceania Cruises’ Marina and Riviera has the Culinary Center and Culinary Discovery Tours, where chefs take you on shore for shopping, dining and even vineyard visits.
Fresh from its multi-million-pound refit, Hapag-Lloyd’s beautiful Europa 2 boasts the cutting edge Miele Culinary School, where guests can take cookery classes then relax, chat and dine upon their creations. There are also special children’s cookery classes, too.
