Q. I understand cruise lines cater to all dietary requirements but which ships have the best vegan options?
A. South America is an ideal destination to discover by ship. Many itineraries on lines include the signature cities of Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, but for something more remote, sail to untamed Cape Horn and Tierra del Fuego with expeditionary line Australis, or cruise into Patagonia on board the expedition ships of Silversea, National Geographic or Ponant. For a more high-octane adventure, explore Chilean Patagonia on a luxury adventure cruiser owned by Nomads of the Seas, which has its own helicopter that whisks passengers on heli-kayaking or heli-skiing trips. Alternatively, head for the Galápagos Islands and their amazing wildlife, ideally showcased by expedition cruises with the likes of Silversea, Celebrity Cruises, Metropolitan Touring and G Adventures, or sail up the Amazon River with companies including Aqua Expeditions or Rainforest Cruises.
