Fred Olsen Cruise Lines unveils summer sailings

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has revealed its 2023 programme, including visits to lesser-known cities in the Adriatic and up to £500 in onboard credit
The line’s new summer 2023 programme offers a chance to explore unusual ports of call, including Durrës in Albania, Neum in Bosnia and Koper in Slovenia.
Along with those less-visited spots, guests can sail along Italy’s Amalfi Coast or travel to Arctic Norway and the remote archipelago of Spitsbergen to witness the Midnight Sun during the summer months.
Fred Olsen has also revamped its range of shore excursions with new options that include making pasteis de nata in Lisbon, hiking up Bergen’s Mount Floyen with a local guide, learning flamenco in Seville or walking through rice fields in Valencia to meet local farmers.
Martin Lister, head of itinerary planning and destination experience, said: “Our new summer programme really showcases what makes us special, and we have hand-crafted each cruise to celebrate our smaller ships and the opportunities they allow us to offer our guests. So much has been curated around the best time to visit, whether that’s to witness a destination at its seasonal best, or to coincide with a special event ashore.
“In July, Braemar will call into Fredericia, Denmark, in time for the annual July 6 celebrations, for example; while in October, Borealis will venture to Canada in time for guests to witness the spectacular autumnal foliage.
“We know that our guests want to have real experiences when they travel with us, and so we are already curating our tours programme to show guests the very best in the destinations we visit, away from the mass market tours and the large crowds.
“This is our first programme where we will have all four ships in our new-look fleet sailing, and we can’t wait to welcome guests, both new and returning, on board with us next summer.”
Regional departures are available, with more than 40 sailings between June and October 2023 departing from Southampton, Dover, Tilbury, Liverpool, Newcastle, Rosyth and Belfast.
Booking offers include up to £250 in onboard credit per person, up to £500 per person when booking a suite, and a reduced rate of £199 for a third guest on selected sailings in July and August 2023.
The new itineraries go on sale on March 18, with exclusive early booking available before that to members of the line’s Oceans loyal scheme. Further voyages from the 2023/24 brochure will be released in April.
The summer programme comes ahead of the launch of Fred. Olsen’s full 2023/24 brochure, which is set to be released by the small-ship operator in late April 2022.
