Paul Gauguin Cruises is offering children free access to its Ambassadors of the Environment Youth Programme on two December cruises. The programme gives young participants aged 9 to 17 hands-on, interactive experience in marine and island ecosystems.
Trips to coral reefs, hiking rainforest trails and visits to marae (ancient Polynesian temples) are some of the activities offered. In addition, participants learn unusual facts of nature – how black pearls and vanilla are cultivated and how volcanic islands become coral atolls.
Parents are encouraged to join children on the eco-excursions and other activities onboard.
The 9-night trips depart on Papeete on 18 and 27 December 2010 with stops at Fakarava, Huahine and Bora Bora.
