To celebrate the US election, try this delicious salted caramel milkshake recipe from celebrity chef Guy Fieri
Salted Caramel Milkshake
170g heavy cream
30g unsalted butter
1 tsp flaky sea salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
240g vanilla bean ice cream
120ml whole milk
Add 80ml water to medium saucepan and set over high heat. Carefully pour the sugar into the centre so none of it splashes up the side of the pot. Bring to the boil and cook until sugar starts to turn brown. Do not stir the pot. If you need to, gently swirl the pot to help dissolve the sugar. Once the sugar turns a deep brown color, remove from heat and carefully add the heavy cream (be careful as it will bubble up vigorously). Add the butter, sea salt, and vanilla. Swirl the pot until the butter dissolves completely and evenly into the caramel sauce.
Drizzle a little of the caramel into two small milkshake glasses (spiral around the inside of the glass). Add the ice cream, milk and remaining caramel into a blender. Blend mixture until smooth and pour into the glasses. Serve with straws. For added indulgence, top with whipped cream and another drizzle of caramel.
