Havila Voyages launches ‘Northern Lights Promise’

New cruise line Havila Voyages have launched a brand-new ‘Northern Lights Promise’, meaning any guest who doesn’t spot the natural phenomenon during their cruise will be eligible for a free voyage.
Havila Voyages are so confident that their ships offer the perfect viewing platform for the aurora borealis that they have launched the new initiative, meaning if you book a twelve-day cruise along the Norwegian coast (starting and ending in Bergen) and do not spot the lights, you’ll be eligible for a free six or seven-night voyage.
Havila’s environmentally-friendly coastal cruise ships (which feature the world’s largest battery packs on a passenger ship) sail away from the light pollution on land.
This makes the ships an ideal vantage point for the bucket-list experience of spotting the Northern Lights, a natural phenomenon that occurs when solar wind and the Earth’s magnetic field interact, producing vivid blue, green and purple ‘dancing’ lights.
Havila passengers can witness the lights while soaking in the on-board jacuzzi, or watching indoors from the lounge and its glass roof and reclining chairs, for uninterrupted views of the Arctic sky.
Havila are also currently offering anyone who books the 12-day voyage an on-board credit worth NOK 5,000 per cabin (approx £420), regardless of the cabin category booked. The credit can be spent on drinks packages, in the on-board shop or on one of the excursions on offer, such as dogsledding in the Arctic wilderness or snowmobiling across the North Cape Plateau.
The ‘Northern Lights Promise’ is valid for all departures from 1 October to 31 March and the replacement trip (if needed), will take place the following winter. The second (replacement) voyage must be booked within 4 weeks of the end of their trip. The onboard credit will be added to bookings made by 31 October 2022 for departure before the end of December 2023.
Prices are valid for cruises departing on 1,4,7,9 and 12 January 2023. For more information on Havila Voyages visit havilavoyages.com.
