Norwegian Cruise Line will be showing Legally Blonde on stage on Norwegian Getaway in 2014.
The seven-time Tony Award nominated Broadway musical is headlining the 787-seat Getaway Theater on board.
Legally Blonde was one of London’s most popular West End shows, where it played at the Savoy Theatre and won three Laurence Olivier Awards, including one for “Best New Musical.”
The entertainment on board also includes “re-invented” ballroom dancing from Burn the Floor, which premiered in London in 1999, toured the US from 2000 and hit Broadway in 2009.
Headliners Comedy Club will feature top comedy acts through their partnership with Levity Entertainment Group – the world’s largest producer of live comedy.
Rock n’ roll piano show, Howl at the Moon, already performing on Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Breakaway, will also be on board.
Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer said:
“With Legally Blonde performing in the Getaway Theater, along with Burn the Floor, world-class comedy by The Levity Entertainment Group, magic in the previously announced Illusionarium, The Grammy Experience, and all of the other entertainment offerings, we continue our commitment on Norwegian Getaway to offer guests the best entertainment experience possible.”
Norwegian Getaway will sail seven-night cruises (nine-night fly-cruises) from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean beginning on 1 February 2014, with ports of call including Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas.
