New ships and cruises for APT in 2013
By Jessica Tooze | 2 Apr 2012
APT are launching their exclusive programme of luxurious River Cruises for 2013 this week. The new collection features two new exciting eight-day cruises and two new ships, as well as a selection of other popular cruises across Europe’s waterways.
The new cruises, in northern Portugal and in Paris and Normandy, allow passengers to explore one of Europe’s most unspoilt rivers, the Douro, or cruise through the idyllic countryside of northern France along the Seine.
The Enticing Douro cruise showcases the lush vineyards, deep gorges and sleepy fishing villages of scenic Portugal and includes highlights such as an exploration of ancient Lamego and small fortified medieval village of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo.
The Paris & Normandy cruise offers panoramic views of Paris and allows you to discover the historic towns, impressive chateaux, magnificent cathedrals and the sites of the Normandy D-Day landings. Highlights include a tour of Monet’s Garden at Giverny and sightseeing in historic Rouen.
As for the new ships, the 108-guest MS AmaVida will cruise the Douro and the MS AmaPrima will take 164 guests in style down the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
