LONDON: Nominations have opened for the British Cruise Awards 2019, celebrating the best of the cruise industry.

Liz Jarvis, Editor of Cruise International magazine, which organises the British Cruise Awards 2019, said: “The British Cruise Awards are the most prestigious awards in the cruise calendar, as they’re the only awards voted for entirely by consumers.

“Cruise holidays are quite simply the best way to see and experience all the world has to offer, and this year’s awards promise to be the most fiercely contested yet,” she added.

“This is a chance for holidaymakers to have their say about the cruise lines and ships that have made their cruise so memorable.”

The nominations stage is used to compile the shortlist which is voted for by consumers, with the nominees with the highest number of nominations in each category going through to the voting stage.

As well as highly competitive categories such as Best New Ship, Best Culinary Experience and Best Cruise Line, this year’s award categories include Best Expedition Cruise Line, Best Boutique Cruise Line, Best For Solo Travellers, Best for Innovation, and Favourite Cruise Destination, as well as categories for cruise agents.

“Last year’s awards received over 60,000 votes, so we’re expecting an even bigger response this year,” added Liz Jarvis.

The awards ceremony will be held at a prestigious London venue in September.
