No matter where in the world you are visiting, great food is the secret to a fantastic time on holiday. And Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) knows a thing or two about serving up a feast onboard.

We always remember that delicious steak, the memorable meal never before tried but lives long in the memory or the previously unknown ingredient that simply blew our minds. At NCL, food is served that will both surprise and delight, and with Freestyle Dining, NCL’s flexible approach to eating in a restaurant of your choice, your meal can be as fine or as fun, as you want.

To learn more about NCL’s journey back to sea and follow the story behind Norwegian Jade becoming the first ship to set sail, tune into the latest episode of NCL’s five-part docuseries, EMBARK – The Series.

Norwegian Cruise Line serves up a treat with delicious food onboard

With the long-awaited return of cruising, NCL has gone above and beyond to continue serving the very best meals for their new and loyal guests. After an 18 month pause in operations, NCL has come back bigger and better than ever before with new menus, a variety of cuisines, and exciting dishes, ensuring each and every meal is utterly memorable.

Always striving for excellence, the time in which ships were docked was not wasted. Instead, the menus of every ship and restaurant have been reworked, enhanced, and perfected, making them more creative than ever before. Try something – anything – new every day of your cruise. Every one of NCL’s 17 ships is fitted with a host of different restaurants, so your meal can be as fine or as fun as you wish it to be. The main dining rooms offer meals made with only the finest ingredients and a daily rotating menu, meaning there’s something for everyone.

Garden Café offers a quintessential buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner menu including meat-carving, made-to-order portions of pasta, and waffles, and the 24-hour eateries offer classic pub fare in a relaxed atmosphere with dishes such as fish and chips so you can get all of your favourite meals at any time of day. With so many options, no matter what type of food you fancy, you can find the perfect dish.

Renowned for its innovative Freestyle Dining concept, NCL revolutionised how guests dine on cruises. Giving travellers the ultimate freedom when it came to dining, NCL was the first cruise line to allow guests to choose between any type of food they fancied – be it sushi, Italian, buffet-style, dining alfresco, or more – at any time of day that suits them. With no fixed dining times or pre-assigned seating, guests can choose between the main dining rooms or one of the many speciality restaurants on board so they can have exactly what they want to eat, where they want to eat it, at any time of day.

The rib-eye at Cagney’s Steakhouse

A must-visit restaurant offered across NCL’s fleet is Cagney’s Steakhouse, a popular speciality restaurant and an absolute must for any steak lover. What’s more, a brand-new partnership has been formed with certified Angus beef, which means that each steak is juicier, has been aged longer and offers a better taste than ever before. So, whether your go-to steak is at-bone, tenderloin, rib eye, or filet minion, you couldn’t ask for a more delicious cut.

It’s not just the outstanding food and of the highest quality; NCL guests are guaranteed superior service. Every single member of the crew has been trained to the highest standard, so when you dine at an NCL restaurant, you feel like you’re the only guest in the restaurant.
