From ship to shore, NCL offers the ultimate entertainment experience – perfectly complemented by its programme of onboard activities designed to suit all ages and tastes.

What to Expect from NCL: Onboard Activities

For guests tired of taking it easy and ready to experience all the unique onboard activities NCL has to offer, the line’s innovative ships offer a wide range for guests to enjoy – from thrill-seeking to relaxation, there’s something for everyone onboard an NCL cruise. Guests can cruise with the utmost confidence thanks to increased health and safety measures onboard. And with every single entertainment option open for travellers, there’s plenty to choose from. The 18-month pause in operations has meant the NCL team has been working tirelessly to improve the guest experience, offering unrivalled onboard activities that are back and certainly bigger than ever.

For Speed Demons and Thrill Seekers

NCL’s racetracks at sea offer an authentic racing experience for speed demons, and boy racers – complete with engine sounds piped in through speakers located in the drivers helmets as they reach up to 30 miles per hour. Norwegian Encore, NCL’s 2019 debut, features the longest racetrack at sea and the world’s first-ever two-story track with turns that are off the side of the ship!

Guests can find laser tag on the top deck of select NCL ships. Courses are up to 10,000 square feet and modelled after the lost city of Atlantis or a galactic battle. So, you can immerse yourself in the action under the stars. A 40 element ropes course lets guests meander high above the water on Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus Class ships. More than 20 feet above the ground, guests can enjoy a captivating view of the decks below as they scale the rock wall. Voted the “Best Onboard Thrill” by Porthole Magazine, NCL offers The Plank – reserved for the most daring of guests; The Plank sits high above the water and eight feet off the side of the ship!

Fun for the Whole Family

One of the best parts about cruising with NCL is the myriad of poolside sports and activities for families to enjoy, perfect for those who have missed relaxing by the water! Lounge and order some drinks or play some family basketball. Bring the whole family to the miniature golf course and have a competition, or visit one of their multi-storey Aqua Parks, complete with slides, tunnels and more. Race side by side in a winding slide reaching up to five stories high named The Whip. From 50 feet in the air, guests can feel the ground fall from beneath them as they rush through a slippery slide at nearly 128 feet/second with Free Fall, or test out Epic Plunge – 200 feet long drop, ending with a swirl around an enormous water bowl.

For the Big Kids

If they’d rather spend their days out of the water, adults can head over to the Casinos at Sea – with over 2,000 slots, nearly 200 table games and even live poker. Retail junkies can rejoice with the endless shopping options on an NCL cruise. With superb prices and unbeatable deals, why not do some duty-free shopping and scoop up some fabulous fragrances, high-end jewellery and more. Or visit the art gallery to bring some beauty and art home, be given as a wonderful gift or hung for all to see.

Guests can educate themselves on beer and wine during the onboard tasting classes with the opportunity to try various options and learn the significance behind them from none other than NCL’s master sommeliers. Or join a good old-fashioned pub crawl for the perfect chance to make friends, play a few games and interact with other fun-loving guests. With over 22 bars and lounges across their fleet, each offering a unique feel and style of drinks, guests will be able to meet new people, explore the ship and hang out in some fantastic settings on your next NCL cruise. If Norwegian Epic, Breakaway or Getaway, they’ll even have the opportunity to try out the first-ever ice bar at sea: Skyy®- Vodka Ice Bar.

To help get people excited about the Great Cruise Comeback, NCL has launched a five-part docuseries, EMBARK – The Series, documenting the highly anticipated return.
