P&O Cruises has revealed its latest ship Iona will host Ionafest, a brand new floating festival starring artists, DJs and entertainers such as Clean Bandit, Blur’s Alex James and presenter Sara Cox.
Paul Ludlow, president of P&O Cruises, said: “This really is an experience of a lifetime, a complete one-off. When has there ever been the opportunity to see these award-winning artists.
“We have made sure that there’s something for everyone to enjoy, all included in the price of a ticket to Ionafest 2020.”
Iona will welcome the star-studded line-up on board from 4 July 2020 during a seven-day round-trip cruise to the Norwegian Fjords from Southampton. The sailing follows the ship’s launch in May.
Joining Sara Cox on the line-up will be fellow radio DJs Trevor Nelson, MBE, and Jo Whiley.
Some of Strictly Come Dancing’s biggest stars are also confirmed for the cruise. These include professional dancers Amy Dowden and Ben Jones, judge Motsi Mabuse and contestant Chris Ramsey, who will perform his comedy routine on board.
But the names do not end here – P&O Cruises will be revealing its full line-up, including the festival’s headliner, as the sailing dates draw closer.
Performers will play across the ship’s seven venues while the main stage will allow guests to dance beneath the stars under Iona’s SkyDome glass roof.
The festival will kick off with Iona’s naming celebration on the first evening in Southampton.
“The naming celebrations on the first night, then the dramatic scenery, exclusive performances and special guests will elevate the holiday to an experience that will be remembered for years to come,” added Ludlow.
Guests on board will also be able to enjoy food from the restaurants, such as Mediterranean eatery Olive Grove and gastropub The Keel and Cow, as well as pop-up festival favourites.
Tickets to Ionafest go on sale at 10am on Monday 9 December.
