The top-ranked cruise ship in the world, Hapag Lloyd’s MS Europa, is soon to be joined by a sister ship
The launch of MS Europa 2’s brochure for the international marketplace yesterday revealed a ship at the very forefront of relaxed luxury cruising. Every detail aboard the new ship has been meticulously planned and is currently becoming reality in St Nazaire, France. Europa 2‘s inaugural voyage will begin on 11 May 2013, and Hapag Lloyd reveals that they have already had several bookings from around the world, even before the brochure was released.
Europa has a loyal following and a high number of repeat passengers, but it seems that die-hard Hapag Lloyd fans are keen to be a part of the new ship’s maiden voyage, trusting in the high standards they have come to expect from the company.
The vision for Europa 2 is slightly different to that of her sister ship. The philosophy is for a blend of casual elegance combined with state-of-the-art technology, catering to a sophisticated, international and cosmopolitan audience. And Hapag Lloyd have thought very hard about who their passengers might be.
For busy professional people, Europa 2 will have shorter itineraries than many lines, making it easy to fit a cruise into any schedule. The ship will focus less on the classic cruise formalities and more on creating an atmosphere where each passenger is able to completely relax surrounded by the very best in service, facilities and design.
Europa 2 will have 11 decks offering the largest space per passenger ratio in the cruise industry and lovely high ceilings to create even more of a sense of space. All 251 suites will have their own outdoor verandas and the highest categories will have wonderful whirlpools with ocean views, so guests can unwind in the privacy of their suite in their own mini spa.
Dining on board will again offer diversity and flexibility – variable mealtimes, no assigned seating, and plenty of tables for two are all on offer. There will be eight restaurants to choose from, including three speciality restaurants with Italian, French and Asian cuisine, as well as a Sushi Bar. There will also be a fantastic on-board cooking school, equipped by Miele.
Europa 2 will sail seven-day combinable cruises to the Mediterranean in the summer months and 13-20 day combination cruises to faraway destinations in the winter. The ship will call at a total of 123 ports, with 26 different itineraries in 2013, taking guests to the Western and Eastern Mediterranean and to the Arabian Peninsula, as well as Southeast Asia.
The attention to detail that has gone into making this ship the best that it can be makes the launch of Europa 2 one of the most highly anticipated in 2013. We can’t wait to see this new queen of the seas.
