Whether a novice or an avid dancer, cruisers will have the opportunity to show off and hone their dancing skills on board Crystal Cruises ‘Big Band and Ballroom Dance’ voyage from Lisbon to Miami this autumn. The legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra will be headlining, accompanied by the classic and retro sounds of a 20 piece live orchestra.
“Ballroom dancing has had a rebirth lately, with people of all ages wanting to either watch or participate in the glamour,” says Crystal’s Vice President of International Sales, Philip Ordever. “This cruise offers a luxury immersion into that world with live music from one of the greatest instrumental bands ever set against the backdrop of historic Lisbon, exotic Casablanca, the lush Canary Islands, tropical St Maarten and art deco Miami.”
Crystal’s complimentary program will include daily live performances of big band music, dance lessons ranging from swing to salsa, extra ambassador hosts to lead women without dance partners and themed lectures about artists such as Billie Holiday by Columbia jazz professor Robert O’Meally.
This 13-night transatlantic voyage onboard the recently redesigned Crystal Serenity departs Lisbon on 8 December and visits Casablanca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and St Maarten before arriving in Miami. Prices start from £2,987 per person including return scheduled flights, overseas transfers, a deluxe stateroom with picture window with all meals and soft drinks, port taxes and a $500 per person onboard credit.
