Thomson Cruises has revealed its new programme for summer 2016, leading with the announcement of itineraries for the latest addition to its fleet, Thomson Discovery

The newest addition to the Thomson Cruises fleet, to be called Thomson Discovery, will sail out of Palma when it launches in June next year.

Currently sailing as Royal Caribbean International’s Splendour of the Seas, the ship will undergo a re-branding and refurbishment programme for summer 2016.

With a capacity of 1,830, it will be the largest of the Thomson Cruises fleet and nearly 40 per cent of cabins will have balconies.

A particularly family-friendly ship, it will boast an outdoor cinema, rock climbing wall, nine hole mini golf course and extensive dining choices with three à la carte restaurants and eight bars and lounges.

Thomson Discovery‘s itineraries – Highlights of the Mediterranean, Cosmopolitan Classics, Mediterranean Secrets and Magic of Spain – will take in destinations such as Livorno in Italy (for Florence and Pisa), Villefranche in France (for Monaco and Nice) and Barcelona and Cadiz (for Seville) in Spain.

There will also be Saturday sailings and flights from 19 regional airports across the UK and Ireland.
