LONDON: Emerald Waterways has announced it will launch two new Star-Ships and a new itinerary for 2017.

Emerald Liberté, a sister ship to Emerald Sky and Emerald Star, which both launched last year, and Emerald Belle, due to launch this June, will carry 138 guests in 70 suites and staterooms, and will sail on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France.

Its eight-day Sensations of Southern France itinerary will take in stops including Lyon, Macon, Avignon and Arles.

Emerald Radiance will sail with 112 guests in 56 suites and staterooms on brand new itinerary Secrets of the Douro river cruise, calling at Porto and Regua in Portugal and Vega de Terron in Spain, which also includes a land tour to Salamanca.

The new ships, which bring the total fleet to seven, will be smaller versions of Emerald Waterways vessels’ original design in order to best take advantage of each rivers’ structures.

Emerald Liberté will have Emerald Waterways’ signature onboard heated pool with retractable glass roof, which transforms into a cinema a night, while the pool on board Emerald Radiance will be on the top deck and not feature a cinema.
