Uniworld unveils epic four-country bucket list river cruise

By Katie McGonagle | 22 Mar 2022

Luxury river cruise line Uniworld has launched a 43-day voyage across Egypt, India and southeast Asia

The boutique river cruise line is set to bring together four countries, three of its luxury ‘super ships’ and 21 Unesco World Heritage Sites in one ‘exotic rivers’ adventure departing in January 2023.

It combines river cruising and luxury touring across Egypt and the Nile, India’s Golden Triangle and the Ganges River, and a sailing along the Mekong through Vietnam and Cambodia.

UK managing director Chris Townson said: “At Uniworld, we are continuously striving to innovate and elevate our guest experience even further in fresh and exciting ways. Off the back of the huge popularity of our first Rivers of the World itinerary, which takes place in 2023 and sold out within days of going to market, we are extremely excited to announce our ‘World’s Most Exotic River and Land Journey’, exclusively for the UK market.

“It’s the ultimate exotic river and land experience at an unparalleled level of luxury, offering the very best accommodation, cuisine and immersive small-group enrichment available.

“This fabulous 43-day itinerary reflects the clear trend we are seeing of customers booking back-to-back river cruises, wanting to maximise their time away and enjoy it at the highest levels of comfort and service.

“The bucket-list trip sets off in January 2023, a month commonly felt as the bleakest and coldest for us here in the UK, giving even more reason for our guests to take an extended break to exotic climes.”

Guests will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo and on board the Sphinx to visit the temples and ancient sites along the Nile, including a trip to the Valley of the Kings to see the tomb of Tutankhamun. Then they will fly to India to embark on a tour of the Golden Triangle – seeing Delhi, the Taj Mahal at sunrise and the ‘pink city’ of Jaipur, staying in luxury Oberoi hotels along the way – followed by a seven-day sailing along the Ganges on the Ganges Voyager II.

Lastly, visitors will spend a further 13 days in southeast Asia visiting Ho Chi Minh City and its wartime tunnels, the floating villages of Vietnam and the temple complex of Angkor Wat on a cruise onboard the all-suite Mekong Jewel.

The journey runs from January 7 to February 18, 2023, and prices start from £18,885 per person (or from £16,995 when booked before May 31), including flights from London or Manchester. Find out more on the Uniworld website.
