Viking Cruises has celebrated yet another successful year at the RHS Chelsea Flower by collecting a Gold medal for The Viking Cruises Garden of Inspiration, designed by Sarah Eberle.
Sarah said: “I feel hugely emotional, proud and delighted that Viking Cruises has given me this opportunity to create this historic garden.”
The artisan garden reflects the colours, art and culture of Barcelona, a source of inspiration for Sarah following her previous travel experiences, and also a leading destination for Viking Cruises guests around the world.
Sarah broke her own winning record this RHS Chelsea Flower Show, securing two gold medals for the third year in a row. She also collected the prestigious medal for her Hillier Garden in the Great Pavilion.
Wendy Atkin-Smith, Managing Director of Viking Cruises UK, said: “The Viking Cruises Garden of Inspiration brings all the vibrancy and excitement of Barcelona to life, and we’re thrilled to have scooped another Gold Medal at Chelsea this year.
“This fabulous city is always a popular destination on our ocean cruises, and we are delighted Sarah is drawing inspiration from its distinctive art and culture.”
This is the second year that Viking Cruises has teamed up with Sarah, who has made a name for herself as a Chelsea Flower Show legend.
In 2016, she was the first ever female garden designer to win Gold in every category – including a gold medal for the ‘Viking Cruises Mekong Garden’ – while she is also the proud owner of gold medals in more categories than anyone else in history.
Joanna Shirley, Shows Judging Manager, said: “There was a fantastic collection of artisan gardens sure to surprise and delight visitors. It’s always a tough decision to make.”
