Voyages of Discovery whisked a selection of its passengers to two specially chartered river boats to take part in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on Sunday 3 June.
The happy holiday-makers were invited to share in this momentous event as part of their cruise, ‘Heritage of the British Isles’, onboard the vessel, Discovery.
Discovery docked at Greenwich before guests were welcomed onto the chartered river boats to begin their unique journey along the River Thames. The lucky few sailed alongside thousands of other boats and passed iconic sights such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the London eye.
The energy of the occasion hit its peak when passengers clasped eyes on the magnificent Royal Barge, The Spirit of Chartwell. Some even managed to sneak a wave to The Queen, as Her Majesty and the Royal Family sailed by.
Following the excitement of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, passengers were then invited to share in a delicious banquet, which showcased the best of British cuisine.
For many, the opportunity offered by Voyages of Discovery was once in a lifetime and provided an unparalleled experience that their guests will continue to talk about for years to come.
